Updates and New Team Members !

It’s been a long time indeed. Way to long, and we apologize for this. The sad truth is that website updates are just not our strong point, though we’d be lying if we said that everything had been going smoothly over the last year.

Indeed since we want to be honest, the last few months had been going very slowly to the point we can consider the project had pretty much been on hiatus! But we’re not dead and we’re still dedicated and for the last month, things have finally been picking up, thanks notably to the arrival of new team members to join us !

Dev Diary #002 – World Simulation – the hardcore lives of adventurers!

If there is one aspect that has been considerably streamlined in RPGs over the years – it’s the world simulation aspect of the games. This account of course to things like NPCs schedules and interactivity, but also to more peculiar aspect that would now feel more at home in a “survival” kind of game such as feeding your characters and sleeping. Indeed: a lot of games have basically removed these aspects altogether!

As Ultima: Return aims to uphold the tradition of the Ultima series; we place great value in the world simulation aspect of the game. While our project is being crafted using a modern game engine, it is important to stress that we tend to see Return as an old school game at heart, so we definitely intend to push the world simulations aspects as much as possible, and in some case even farther than they have ever been in the Ultima series.

Ultima: Return, a title change and an announcement!

Greetings everyone!

You should also have noticed already that our website has been redesigned and… our project has undergone a small title change. So it’s time to bid farewell to “Ultima: Return to the Isle” and hello to “Ultima: Return”. While there are multiple reasons for this change, the main one however is quite simply that the game was already been called “Ultima: Return” informally for over two years now (notably serving as both our website address and twitter account) to the point where it just made sense to shorten the name.
